This is so peaceful to look at. I can guess Twig is a very dedicating, nurturing and caring character. Would love to see your next exploration. I wonder what's the story behind the mask? Does every entity like twig and lotus in Tiktah all have masks?

fondimon responds:

Actually yes they do! Its made out of the outer shell of their seeds once they sprout open. They also keep the masks of ones who have passed on. The masks in the back are some of twigs family who are no longer with him. And in the Martik culture you don't show your bare face except to your mate.

Man, I'm really sold on this one. Floating island is my favorite. Lotus's alternative design here look vastly different than the original that it could be its own character. Kinda resemble a witch scarecrow. Awesome color and background. Looking for more Lotus and Twig soon!

fondimon responds:

I get lost in the world of twigs tbh! I have so much fun just thinking about it all.

I love the green and orange combination and dood, I think if you put a moon on top, it would be so much cooler, with rim light casting on him and stuff, like nuclear moon I guess??

YonusBahtzee responds:

Aw man! That's a great idea! I completely forgot about adding a moon. I'm gonna have to experiment with that more.

Thanks man!

Love the contrast m8. Gouache is my personal favorite. It is quite similar to pastel but more elegant. I'd like to see more variety in color in your next experimental work. Cheerios!

Bittersoda responds:

I agree with more variety of colors. Gouache has been a lot of a fun, I'm glad to finally start working in it. Thanks man!

I bet you got an A+ on the assignment and extra credit for creativity. Mesmerizing work m8.

Artist-Lost responds:

Thank you. Still waiting on the grade, but my classmates seem to like it. This one was more of an intro class, so I'm excited to see what I learn in the later classes.

Very lovecraftian... I like.

AWW, she looks both wicked and cute, just the way I like her to be. Thanks a lot for doing the art trade with me. This gives me an idea for her in the novel. I'm up for art trade anytime with you!

GhoulKitten responds:

Ack, thanks! You're quite welcome. And so am I, hit me up anytime with ideas for another art trade. :)

The composition and the level of details are outstanding. The rifle on the bear rider could use some highlight to pop-out from the character. But overall looks absolutely good for a cover book. Sorry it didn't make itself in. Still, could you give me some insight and how the experience would look like doing illustration work for a book cover? Cause I'm doing mine as well. Thanks and keep up amazing work like this one!

Rhunyc responds:

Hey thank you! I appreciate that! Basically you need to illustrate it as two separate halves that are cohesive as one larger image. So the right side is meant to be the front of the cover of the book and the left side would be the back cover. Also, this cover illustrates a pivotal moment in the book's story, so that's another thing you want to keep in mind when deciding what you'll draw for your cover. It doesn't have to represent a pivotal moment, but something that will resonate with those who have read it, yet still appeal and interest those who don't know anything about the story, something to draw them in. Hopefully that gives you a little better insight into it! Good luck on your book!

The contrast and texture is fittingly satisfying. Follow!

I love the value you put into this one. Absolute favorite of mine.

alejandroartworks responds:
